ALIEN

ALIEN

12.11.21 – 20.11.21

ALIEN is a dance created for the community. An abstract and ritual act and a tribute to all those who are experienced as – and experience themselves as – ALIEN.

When you as an audience are invited in as a viewer of this dance, it gives you the opportunity to view the dance and the dancers in the same way as you view often artistic forms for example in gallery spaces. Without narrative, without traditional dramaturgy – but as a strong physical and visual experience.

ALIEN is a meditative and timeless dance, a large living statue of people in motion.

ALIEN is the latest work from Finnish born, and Danish based award-winning choreographer Taneli Törmä. For more than 10 years the classical trained Törmä, has investigated how dance – in any form – can create and strengthen the community.

ALIEN is supported by Statens Kunstfond and created as a Big Pulse Dance Alliance coproduction, coproduced by New Baltic Dance (Lithuania) and Dublin Dance Festival (Ireland) and presented by Tanz im August/HAU Hebbel am Ufer (Germany), co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

Music: Steve Reich – Music for 18 Musicians – Innova Recordings – GVSU New Music Ensemble – Bill Ryan

ALIEN will be premiered Friday November 12th at Kunstbygningen Filosoffen, Odense as part of Taneli Törmä Location X’s 10 years celebration program.
